People’s Everyday Travel and the Mobile Internet

People’s Everyday Travel and the Mobile Internet

Mobile technologies have redefined the need for people to be physically mobile to work and socialise; they make new daily travel practices possible, and consequently, this impact on people’s daily practices. Yet, little is known about how people support their everyday travel activities with mobile technologies and strategies for further transforming current services remain based in speculation. Our aim is to investigate: (i) how people support or enhance everyday tasks while ‘on the go’ with mobile internet technologies; (ii) the significance of those activities for people as part of their everyday lives; (iii) people’s positive and/or negative experiences with the identified ‘internet on-the-go practices’ with current online services.
